The oven door has a viewing hole that allows you to inspect the oven to ensure it is burning properly. Once the first batch of pellets have been lit and are burning well, add more pellets in the fuel hopper to the top of an oven until you're satisfied with the amount. The hopper automatically inserts the pellet into oven. To maintain the oven temperature you need to fill the hopper with pellets. A full hopper of pellets can last about 15 minutes.

The pizza oven kept its temperature very well as long as it was topped up with pellets. I was able take out one pizza, open the door, and then prepare the next pizza. It took no time at all. It was unnecessary to wait for the oven heat up to again.
We also replenished our wood pellets for the oven. We decided not to return the Ooni hardwood pellets that we were initially sent, as they are so good. It costs just PS19.99 to heat the oven with a large bag of pellets (10kg).

It is necessary to wait until the oven has cooled completely before you store it or place the cover.
To increase the heat in the Ooni Fyra you can simply adjust your chimney vent. Open the vent, remove the chimney cap and increase the airflow in the oven.
Windy conditions can increase the heat time and expose pellets' biggest flaw, flame maintenance. The Fyra 12 can reach ideal temperatures for pizza making, but it won't stay there. Even in perfect conditions, it takes just a few minutes to make a Neapolitan-style pizza. The oven also requires some time for recovery between pies.
It took only 10 minutes to unbox everything, read the instructions, and set it up - amazing stuff.
But, at the end of it all, the Fyra 12's real question is whether or not the Fyra 12 can cook high-quality pizza. The answer is a clear yes, provided you're willing to work around its limitations.
There is no built-in thermometer so it can be difficult to know when the pizza oven has reached the desired temperature. I found that it took 15 minutes for the oven to heat up. You can check the viewing hole to determine if rolling flames are visible. These flames extend up along the roof of your oven and indicate that it is ready for cooking.
Cleaning the Ooni Fyra is easy - another selling point. After the oven has cooled, which can take up to an hour, you can remove the grate from the oven and empty the ash. To remove food residue, I wipe down the pizza stone with a dry kitchen towel. You can wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and soapy warm water. That's all there is to it! This takes very little effort.
We also replenished the wood pellets needed for the pizza oven. We decided to keep using the Ooni-branded hardwood flakes we were sent originally as they have proven so reliable. We have used the large 10kg bag (PS19.99) of pellets for a while, and it is very affordable to operate the oven.
Don't be fooled if it is small. This pizza oven has the ability to make delicious pizzas at a fraction of the cost of traditional pizza restaurants. It's been a wonderful addition to our outdoor entertaining set-up and we cannot wait to get it back in action this spring and into the summer.
Before I tried Ooni Fyra 12, there was no way I could have imagined that this year I would master making pizza. New York City has many great pizza options. There is always pizza wherever I am. I don't have the skills to create cast-iron pies at home.
