The main question, however, is whether or no the Fyra 12 has the ability to cook a quality pizza. It is possible to cook a high-quality pizza if you can navigate around its quirks.
You can see that the Ooni Fyra has received over 1000 reviews from users on the Ooni site. Many people praise the ease of setting it up, its high-quality materials, and its portability. It is evident that the quality of the cooked pizzas impressed people.
What does that translate into for the end user? Fyra 12 uses a lot pellets. It always needs more. It takes a lot more effort to maintain the flame needed for cooking more than one slice of pizza.

These accessories can quickly add to the cost of your pizza oven though, so although they are great additions to your outdoor cooking setup if you have the budget, they're not all essential.
Let's just get this out of the way: outdoor pizza ovens don't come cheap. Even middle-of-the-road options can cost anywhere from $500 to $1,000. The sticker price of the Fyra 12, however, is $349 — $50 less than Ooni's gas-powered Koda 12 ($399) and $350 cheaper than the bigger, top-of-the-line Karu 16 ($799), which can use different types of fuel and also carries a seal of approval from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (the international body that protects and preserves the tradition of Neapolitan pizza-making).
These are facts about me that would make buying an outdoor pizza oven like adopting a puppy. I have a roof I can access that allows me to use a small charcoal grill occasionally, but it's unfinished and a bit slanted. There's a table there, but it's all. There are no outlets. There is no gas hookup. You will feel a lot more peaceful here. A propane tank is something I don't like because it freaks me out. The more I can do to keep the oven running and lit, the better. With this in mind, Ooni's Compare Ovens page was helpful and I found the Fyra 12 to be the right match.
We've used the recipe in all seasons: on sunny Saturdays in great weather, during rainy Saturdays when we just want a treat, and even in winter where it was just the same fun to cook under the light of fairy lights. Read on to see how we got along...
I couldn’t agree more as I can’t praise this pizza oven high enough. It's simple to put together, takes little space, is light enough to be moved easily around your garden. Even if your balcony or patio is small, this product would still be a good buy. It is easy to use, so you will soon be enjoying your favorite pizza oven recipes.
The Fyra is equipped with a door like the Ooni 3 (and Ooni Karu) to retain heat. Its glass-reinforced handle keeps it cool, even when it gets hot. The door does not get in the way when it is open. Instead, it can be left hanging at the bottom of your opening so that you can slide your pizza in.
Ooni recommends that you place your pizza oven in an area where there is no wind. Also, keep it at least 3ft (1 m) away of structures to get the best results. The manual advises that it be placed on wood, stone, marble, and stainless steel surfaces.

To help me get started, I received Ooni Premium hardwood pellets as well as an Ooni 12 classic pizza peel.
The main question, however, is whether or no the Fyra 12 has the ability to cook a quality pizza. It is possible to cook a high-quality pizza if you can navigate around its quirks.
It is necessary to wait until the oven has cooled completely before you store it or place the cover.
What’s different in comparison to all the other Ooni Ovens is the vent on the back that equally helps suck air inside the oven – It’s quite handy considering that the pellet hopper can’t gather enough air because it remains always covered.
The Ooni Fyra package pizza oven is lightweight so I could carry it around in my garden.
Ooni Fyra pizza ovens have become the essential garden accessory. It's easy enough to see why. These pizzas have become one of the most requested items of the past twelve months.
Pellets have a lot to offer. They are very efficient in burning, as mentioned previously. However, this is a question when baking at high temperatures for pizza-making.
The best thing about the oven is its ease of use. You'll enjoy consistent high temperatures, if you don't forget to fill the hopper as I did once. Although I was nervous about the Fyra's ability to get the pizza out of the peel, and not being able to maneuver the pie around the oven properly, the whole process was easy. You can enjoy all the delicious flavors of live fire without ever having to interact with it.
Windy conditions can make it take longer to heat up and expose the pellets' greatest weakness: flame maintenance. Although the Fyra 12 has the ability to reach perfect pizza-making temperatures it is not able to stay there. Even under ideal conditions, the time it takes to make a Neapolitan pizza can be only a few seconds. Also, the oven requires some recovery time between pies.
The chimney is detachable and helps circulate air inside the oven. There’s also a second chimney at the backside, which is the pellet hopper. It’s taller, almost double the size of that of Ooni 3’s hopper.
The pellets are a versatile product that has a lot of benefits. They burn efficiently, which is something that has been mentioned before. But this can be disputed when you cook at the high temperatures required for good pizza-making.
Ooni has been making amazing outdoor ovens for many years. We've tested a few of them and found that they often strike the right balance between quality and performance. We'll be reviewing the Ooni Fyra Pizza Oven. This is the 4th installment of the Ooni Series.
I have to be honest, the first few pizzas were not as good as I had hoped. I found they were slightly burnt on the bottom and not cooked correctly on the top. This was disappointing for the children. The general consensus was that they weren't as good at Franco Manca.
Outdoor kitchens are becoming more popular, and so is the desire to have the best pizza oven for your outdoor kitchen. When I was offered the chance to test the Ooni Fyra wood-pellet pizza oven, I took it as a great opportunity to find out if owning a pizza oven in our garden would be as fun.
Two issues I have with the design are: the peephole that is meant to let you inspect a cooked pie without releasing heat, is too small to be able to see through. It is difficult to maintain consistent flames due to the small firebox at the back.
They all have a different feel and it is difficult to learn. My theory: A lot of this is due to the small firebox discussed in the previous section.
Sure, you can cook a frozen pizza in an Ooni oven, but that definitely kills some of the authenticity. You might also struggle to get an even bake. Since the frozen pizza is, well, frozen, the outside of the pizza will cook much faster than the inside of the pizza.

If you want to be able to use your Ooni pizza oven in the garage, there are a few things you need to consider. First of all, is the temperature. If the top of your pizza is burning while the base remains undercooked, this usually means that your baking stone isn't hot enough. The middle of your baking stone should be 750F / 400C or higher. 28 Jan 2022
Add toppings right before you cook the pizza. If they sit on the pizza too long, the dough will become wet and will stick to the peel. 5 Feb 2021
The Ooni Fyra is an easy model to assemble and use, it's great for beginners who are interested in an entry level pizza oven. It doesn't use logs or gas, instead it uses wood pellets that are fed through a hopper into the oven, so once lit, there's no complications of managing the flames, or how to keep it going.
