The Ooni Fyra's design is still very similar to the Ooni Fyra and other Ooni models. It maintains the Ooni Pizza Oven's iconic dome shape. It looks very similar to Ooni Karu, Ooni 3 and Ooni 3 models.

Windy conditions increase the time it takes for pellets to heat and expose their greatest flaw: flame management. The Fyra 12 is capable to reaching perfect pizza-making temperatures but it doesn't always stay there. Even in ideal conditions, the time required to make a Neapolitan style pizza takes only a few moments. In addition, the oven can take a while to recover between pies.

If you're looking for 100% certainty about when the oven is up to temperature, you can buy an Ooni Infrared Thermometer. However, this gadget might not be necessary if you're going to cook pizzas in the oven. After using the oven a few times, I was able get a good idea when it was ready to bake.

There is no built-in thermometer so it can be difficult to know when the pizza oven has reached the desired temperature. I found that it took 15 minutes for the oven to heat up. You can check the viewing hole to determine if rolling flames are visible. These flames extend up along the roof of your oven and indicate that it is ready for cooking.

Before I cooked pizzas in the Ooni Fyra, I heated it for 30 minutes at high heat and let it cool down before wiping it with a kitchen towel. Ooni states that this is necessary to get rid of any residues during manufacturing before you cook in it.

I preheated the Ooni Fyra for 30 minutes, then let it cool off. After that, I wiped the inside with a dry kitchen towel. Ooni tells me that this is essential to do to remove any residues left from the manufacturing process.

The Ooni Fyra 12 makes great pizza. The results can be made with any type of dough (I have tried both store-bought and homemade), and they are crispy, spotty, and ready in no time. Once you have mastered your system and are familiar with best practices, it's great for entertaining two or three and as the centerpiece of a party. Its compact size means that it can be stored in its small, stackable box when it is not needed. I am a big fan of Ooni ovens, but I hate large kitchen appliances and one-trick kitchen gadgets. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it and how easily I found space in my home for it.

I didn't know that this would be my year of mastering pizza making before I tried the Ooni Fyra 12. New York City's resident, I have access all kinds of pizza and prices in my area. Fyra 12 can be amazing, but there are some caveats. Ooni's pellets and firestarters are a must. This is annoying but it will make your pizza taste great. It is essential to ensure that the hopper does not become clogged if you make multiple pizzas. If you can bear to keep these things in view, I cannot recommend it enough. The Fyra 12 is the simplest wood fired pizza oven you can find. It produces amazing results in a compact and sleek package that can be stored away when not in usage. I am excited to continue using the Fyra 12 and plan to have a pizza party with my parents when they visit next month. That is a testament to how well it works. I could take them anywhere in New York City to get pizza. But the good stuff you can make at home is even better.
