What are HA fillers, exactly?
Juvederm or Restylane are hyaluronic fillers that are suspended in gel carriers. This gel keeps the hyaluronic ag in place. The hyaluronic Acid immediately draws in water to increase the volume of the area where it is injected. This is great for moderate to deeper wrinkles and folds of the face or areas where more volume is desired like cheeks or lips. These fillers dissolve naturally with most lasting at least a year. Others may last longer.
Aesthetic medicine is a broad term for specialties that focus on altering cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. The poly-L–lactic acid is biodegraded gradually and replaced by a matrix of new collagen over several months. The areas that may be treated include the temples, cheeks or nasolabialfolds as well as the jawline. Most initially will require three treatments over a couple of months and then just one treatment annually. These results can last longer than two years.
What is Kybella?
Kybella can be used to permanently remove fat cells. A single session may require up to five Kybella vials depending on how much fat is present. Additional sessions may be necessary depending on the extent of the treatment. The most common area to be treated is the submental, also known by the 'double-chin'.
