The Wyeth - Tootle Manor, at 11th and Charles sts., is a historical mansion. William M. Wyeth built the mansion in 1879. Mann Architects designed it in Gothic style. They had travelled extensively throughout Europe to gather ideas and build the mansion which was completed in 1883. The Tootles owned the house from 1887 until it was sold.
The mansion is three stories high and has a tower. The house contains more than 40 rooms. Beautiful woodwork, imported stained glass, and hand-painted ceilings are just a few of the features found in the interior. You can experience life in the late 19th-century. He was also a member and past president of the Wyeth Duck Club (St. Joseph Duck Club) and the Audubon Society (St. Joseph Duck Club). He was also the president and founder of the St. Joseph Hardware Company.
