The Wyeth - Tootle Manor at 11th & Charles sts is a historic home. William M. Wyeth built it in 1879. It was designed in Gothic style by Eckel and Mann Architects. They had travelled extensively throughout Europe to gather ideas and build the mansion which was completed in 1883. The Tootles lived there until 1887 when it was sold.
The mansion has three floors, and a tower. The house is home to more than 40 rooms. Beautiful woodwork, hand-painted ceilings and imported stained windows are all part of the interior. He was also the president of St. Joseph Hardware Company which he owned and managed.
