Summary: As training director and apprentice coordinator with the Ironworkers #14, Ethan LeGrand covered highlights of all Ironworker apprentice education, training, and testing provided at the facility. These include every aspect of a professional Ironworker’s job, from welding, bolting, rigging, reinforcing steel, safety, and certification to seven AWS codes. They even have a fully functional steel building mock up they erect and disassemble during training. Section 167 officers for the 2016/2017 year were presented and approved by the members. Presenter: Chris Messier, Section chair- NEBRASKA — Section members toured Camaco, Columbus, Neb., a facility that makes 35,000 car seats a day. SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA — Michael Adams (from left), Dan Zabel, and Kiersten Wegner celebrated Adams’s and Wegner’s $500 Pat Wagner Scholarship Awards. SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA — Dan Zabel (left) awards Pat Wagner with a plaque in appreciation of his years of service to the Section. SPOKANE — Phil Zammit (left), section chairman, presented a thank you gift to Speaker Ethan LeGrand.
