Nominated are the following candidates: John R. Bray for president; Dale A. Flood, Thomas J. Lienert, and Robert W. Roth for vice presidents; and Richard L. Holdren and Duane K. Miller for directors-at-large. The National Nominating Committee was chaired by Past President Dean R. Wilson. Serving on the committee with Wilson were Bruce P. Albrecht, Uwe W. Aschemeier, Robert E. Brenner, Josh D. Burgess, Nancy C. Cole, Tom A. Ferri, Karl R. Fogleman, Pierrette H. Gorman, Stewart A. Harris, Bob G. Pali, Kerry Shatell, Jerry L. Warren, and John A. Willard. Alex L. Diaz served as secretary. The Nominating Committees for Districts 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, and 20 have selected the following candidates for election/reelection as district directors for the three-year term Jan. 1, 2017– Dec. 31, 2019. The nominees are Kenneth Temme, Dist. 2; Carl Matricardi, Dist. 5; Joshua Burgess, Dist. 8; Phillip Temple, Dist. 11; Tony Brosio, Dist. 14; Jerry Knapp, Dist. 17; and Pierrette Gorman, Dist. 20. John Bray is nominated to serve as president. He served four years as vice president of AWS and six years as District 18 director. He is currently president of Affiliated Machinery, Inc. For 12 years, he served on the Houston Section Board and is a past chairman of the Section. He is a 27-year AWS Member, an AWS Distinguished Member, and a Certified Welding Sales Representative. Dale Flood is nominated to serve a third term as vice president. He is project manager, R&D, at Tri Tool, Inc. He served as Dist. 22 director and chaired the Sacramento Valley Section. He is an active member of the Membership Committee, Education Scholarship Committee, Professional Welders Competition Committee, and D10 Committee on Piping and Tubing. Thomas Lienert is nominated to serve as vice president. He is a technical staff member, R&D Engineer 4, at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He is an active member and/or officer of several national level committees, has served as chairman of the AWS New Mexico Section, and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of that Section. He is also currently serving as vice president-nominee and is in the last year of his term as director-at-large. Robert Roth is nominated to serve as vice president. He currently serves as a director-at-large, member of the Executive Committee, and member of the Finance Committee. He is president and CEO of RoMan Manufacturing, Inc., which is an AWS sustaining member, as well as a member of WEMCO and the RWMA. Richard Holdren is nominated to serve as a director-at-large. He is president and principal welding engineer of Welding Consultants, LLC, and a senior welding engineer with Arc Specialties Technical Services. He has served as a member, and in several cases chair, of various AWS certification, education, and technical committees. Duane Miller is nominated to serve as a director-at-large. He is currently manager of engineering services and a welding design consultant with Lincoln Electric.
