RICHMOND REPORT
As we wrap up 2017, the Richmond Claims Association looks back on a
year filled with excellent educational events, professional development and
fellowship. In June, the RCA once again hosted its annual joint education day
with the VSCA, a well-attended event characterized by interesting seminars by
distinguished members of our claims community. Our June meeting followed
the educational event and, in it we congratulated six winners of the RCA
Scholarship and recongnized Richmond’s adjuster of the year. The summer
also brought with it our annual golf tournament and picnic, which were held
at the Birkshire Golf Club. Our autumn season kicked off with our September
meeting where Virginia Delegate Dr. John O’Bannon shared his thoughts on
the legislative process in the 2017 General Assembly. Our October meeting
provided a special treat when Ted Dunlap of RTI Forensics brought a drone
helicopter and provided a presentation on how engineers are using drones
to 3-D map loss sites.
