“Get Switched On”
The 2018 Virginia State Claims Association annual Leadership Conference will be held at
Portsmouth Renaissance Hotel & Conference Center in Portsmouth, Virginia on October 4 -6,
2018. We will kick off the conference with the Golf Tournament on Thursday, October the 4th
at the Nansemond River Golf Course. The Nansemond River Golf Club is the region's premier
waterfront golf course. This will be an exciting competition with prizes and fun for all.
On Friday October 5, 2014, our educational programs will begin and will continue on Saturday
October 6th. The Virginia State Claims Association continues to strive to educate the claims
professional. In a business that continuously changes, it is important that we all be as
knowledgeable as possible when servicing our customers. We are lining up our speakers and
are focusing on the industry needs. The topics will be of interest to everyone and will be
entertaining as well as educational. Courtesy of Temporary Accommodations, we are excited
to have lined up as our Saturday speaker Dr. Raymond Shelton, Director of Professional
Development for The National Center for Crisis Management, who will speak to us about
managing the psychological trauma associated with catastrophes. We will be updating our
website with the remaining educational topics and speakers in the coming weeks.
Friday night get ready to light it up with our theme “Get Switched On”. Great food, great music
and your attendance will make this fun event a night to remember. We are excited to offer
musical entertainment by The Worx! We hope everyone will join our exhibitors in the creative
fun of decorating or dressing to enjoy the theme. Everyone be ready to shine.
Saturday night, the VSCA Banquet will be a great event. Our banquet will include recognitions,
awards and installation of our new officers. It will be a fun night of good food and camaraderie!
