Topic: Challenges of Dissimilar Metal Welding Summary: Members toured Specialty Welding and Machining and attended a presentation by William Newell where he discussed the challenges of dissimilar metal welding involving chrome-moly alloys and other alloy families. Presenter: Bill Frye, senior technical training coordinator, Austal USA Summary: Section members met for a special night of award and scholarship presentations. Section Chair Gary Williams presented Clay Byron, immediate past chair and current Section treasurer, with a plaque of appreciation for his dedication and service to the Mobile Section. Scholarship recipients were also recognized and presented with certificates. In addition, Bill Frye with Austal USA spoke about the importance of workforce development.
