ROANOKE VALLEY RUMBLINGS
Randy S. Layman, AIC- Reporter, State Director, President & Executive Secretary
It turned out to be very entertaining,
considering the rather serious
subject matter.
May 10th’s meeting at the Elks
Lodge featured CRDN of the
Shenandoah Valley CEO and former
RVCA President Rick Wheeler’s
introduction of his company’s most
recent restoration service offering
to the industry. CRDN’s “eCertified
Electronics Restoration” is this most
recent service and Rick subtitled his
presentation “How to Get you Spark
Back”! Rick is always informative and
entertaining, so we really enjoyed
his knowledge and skill in explaining
what this new service offered to his
clients and their customers.
In July, on the 12th we’ll have our
Annual Baseball Outing at the
Salem Red Sox Baseball Stadium
in Salem, VA. The game against the
Winton-Salem minor league team
The Warthogs, will be preceded by
a vended meal on site and choice
of beverages, adult or otherwise,
in addition to the admission ticket,
at a cost of only $10.00 per person

The Roanoke Valley Claims
Association (RVCA) meets on the
Second Thursday of each odd-numbered
month (September,
November, January, March, May &
July) usually for dinner, with the July
date being a baseball outing involving
local minor league teams in Virginia,
North Carolina, Delaware and
Maryland. In addition, we meet for a
Christmas Holiday reception or meal
sometime during the second week of
December and for a Valentine’s Day
outing with spouses invited to the
Roanoke Country Club sometime the
second week of February.
Our March meeting on the 8th
featured RVCA President &
Executive Secretary Randy Layman’s
presentation on workplace stress
with an individualized Stress
Assessment which was developed
by the Lewis-Gale Hospital System’s
Mental Health Division. It was a
demonstration by survey of the
perceived level of stress and attitudes
toward stress by completing a single
page questionnaire.
