Lab Jobs: Manager/Supervisor
HR loves using "X years required" to weed people out; you really think a year at one lab is the same as a year at another? Does a year at Harvard = a year at the local community college? Look at that freezer!
Invaluable even as a Lowly Tech
I love it when techs in stock photos aren't wearing gloves... Even as a lowly tech, I still made HUGE contributions, doing the work of multiple people and saving the lab more money than I was making.
Equipment & Techniques
A 5-year veteran of one lab knows how ONE lab does things; they know how to run the tests run at that ONE lab. I've worked in 7 labs. I've seen the good, the bad, and everything in-between.
Redesigned Test Reports
I hired a freelancer and together we created the most beautiful lab test reports the world has ever seen, and probably ever will see.
Comedy!
After grad school I went to Hollywood for 2 years. Weather was awesome, got a dog, won Best Comedy in a film festival by myself, worked the SAG Awards - good times.
7 Different Labs?! Why?!?
I know, it looks like I'm a flake who gets bored and won't stay in one place too long, but it's actually sooooo the opposite. I want my next job to be my last. But here I explain why I've bounced around.
