The Franklin HD145 (3) spindle-cNC drill is 44 inches wide. The HD-145 can lift beams of up to 750 lbs per feet. The high-performance spindle design allows drilling speeds of up to 2000 RPM. The rigid design of the spindle allows for very aggressive feed rates, up to 300 ft per minute. There are many material handling options available for the Franklin HD145, from 300 lbs to 750 pounds per foot.

The programming of the CNC Drill Line can be done even manually. Peddimat is the machine programming software and most operators can program most parts within less than an hour. Of course practice makes perfect. The best way to program the machine, however, is to import parts from a CAD drawing, preferably created in 3-D modeling software like ProSteel 3D or StruMis. These files can be imported directly into the machine. The operator simply selects the part and presses the Cycle Start button.

We have been developing solutions and machines for steel fabricators over 50 years. As a solution to decreasing labor supply and rising labor costs, we are focusing on automation. Our goal is to reduce production costs and increase profit margins. Voortman CNC Beam Drilling lines can provide the best in productivity, accuracy, and reliability. Our CNC Beam Drill Lines incorporate many functions, such as drilling and milling, marking and countersinking. They also allow for thread-tapping and other tasks to improve productivity and optimize workflow. Voortman provides a comprehensive range of Beam Drill Lines for all types of production.

The Advantage-2 CNC beam Drill Line is ideal for tandem installation with any Voortman's automatic sawing system. It features powerful material handling, precise measurement capabilities, and high speed design.

CNC Drill Line will not only drill columns and beams but can also process all types of steel profiles such as channel, angle, flat bars, base plates and RHS square and circular profiles.

GSS Machinery's magnetic brush & broom are used to remove chips from the machine, and sweep up chips from floors.

Auto Stand-Off is currently defined as surface stand-off. It should not be confused with vector standoff in 5-axis mode. Auto stand-off currently works on a changing surface. It adjusts vertically based upon the angle of the Axis. This means that five (5) axes are taken into consideration during calculations. However, this is not the same thing as tool vector standoff. You can change the vector standoff while the machine runs manually by pressing buttons on the screen.

The CNC Drill Line works very well and Avenger operators were often the ones doing the layout. It is not necessary to have any computer knowledge. Full training is given at the time the installation is completed.

To ensure smooth operation and low maintenance, our beam drill machine machines come with linear guides and central lubrication. A 4-station tool changer is included in each coordinate system. It allows it to drill/mill, scribe/counter sink or tap as necessary. The tools can also be changed easily mid-operation. An arm attached to the rack and pinion on the feed conveyor is used to position the beam while it passes through the drill. Our steel beam drill lines are much more accurate that friction roller machines.

Even for those with little or no computer or CNC experience, programming the CNC Drill Line is easy and intuitive.

Let's examine the real world fabrication situation and compare Insert Drill Bits with Twist Drill Bits. We'll only look at one example: 13/16 inches (22mm) is the most widely drilled hole.

Voortman's beam drilling line has intelligence beyond its own capabilities. It can also be plugged in to any environment thanks to its modularity. Tandem solutions using band saws robotic coppers and PeddiWriters increase the shop's throughput positioning. This allows the steel industry to be more economically efficient when it cools down, and more aggressive when it heats up. Voortman developed the Multmaster so that even the smallest components could be made into a tandem saw. Fabricators make greater profits by using the full profile and minimising remnant. Get more output Check. As with every Voortman CNC drill, profit would not be possible without material handling. Fabricators lose money every profile that is manually moved. Material handling is also safer than using cranes or fork trucks to transfer the largest profiles.

Voortman has developed today's CNC beam standard drill line using tried-and-true technology. Advantage-2 processes 150 ton of steel per workweek with the most efficient drilling/milling, scribing/taping, and countersinking operations.

The CNC Drill Line is designed specifically for fabricators and general job shops that need to put holes in steel profiles of all types. Consider the following questions and determine if this machine fits your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fixed connections, pinned and roller connections are the most popular types of support in beams and structures that connect to their foundation. You can see any of these supports at any point along the length of a structural component.

C-channel frames are stronger against rust.

Use a slow speed to drill. The slower a bit spins the more hot it becomes. And heat dulls bits quickly. It is a good idea for drill bits to be used at a slow speed when drilling through metal. Drill bits for hard metals such as steel and larger diameters require slower speeds.

These nodes can connect a beam to a column or a wall. A beam that supports multiple beams is called the main beam. Some of its nodes can be non-supporting. These can be, for example, the nodes on which secondary beams rest.

Codes do not specify beam dimensions. These requirements are related to reinforced concrete beams' width-depth ratio. As a general rule, it is best to use depths that are two-and-a-half to three times the beam width. It is more economical to use narrower sections for long-span beams.
