Cnc Beam Drill Line Layout

In medium- to large-sized structural fabrication shops, beam drill lines are an important tool. Beam drills can drill holes in many steel profiles and at different lengths using CNC-controlled programming. These machines can be used to cut holes in a variety of steel profiles without the need for manual layout or chalking. This tedious process can take several weeks and require multiple workers to complete. The beam drill line eliminates the need for manual layout and all associated errors.

What is a beam line machine

CNC Drill Line can import DXF file and can use them for processing 3-D shapes provided the steel is detailed according specific rules. You might need to adjust some of these rules to match the details you are currently using. This process may not be as seamless as 3-D modeling software.

Beam Drill

Automatic Edge Finder - The edgefinder can be used manual (Jogging Method and Screen Buttons), programmatically using M &G codes or fully automated with a dedicated program. This option sets offsets and rotates the program to match location and orientation on the cutting surface.

The CNC Drill Line is very simple to operate and most of our Avenger operators were the men doing layout on the floor. No prior computer knowledge is necessary, and full training is provided at the time of the installation

Material Handling

Voortman has created the CNC beam drill line standard today using proven technology. Advantage-2 processes 150 tons of steel an average of once a week. The Advantage-2 is highly efficient in drilling, milling and tapping as well as countersinking.

All of our beam drill lines machines are equipped with central lubrication, linear guides, and a tool cooling to ensure smooth operation. There is a four-station tool changer within each coordinate system. This allows the machine to drill and mill, scribe, countersink, or tap as required. Tools can be easily swapped mid-operation. A positive beam positioning arm is attached to the feed conveyor. It allows for more precise positioning of the beam as it moves through the drillline. The rack and pinion system maintains.004" making our steel beam drilllines more accurate than friction roll machines.
