Welcome to PonyIsland! As a new member to this site, you have the title of TRI - this stands for TRIAL. All TRI accounts are given 20 days before they expire during which you may familiarize yourself with the site and decide if you like it enough to pay for a renewal.

Users, such as yourself, are only permitted ONE (1) TRI account per person. Any one caught with more than ONE (1) TRI account will face consequences which can include being banned from the site. It is very important to remember that.

As a TRI user, you can view some of the Forums, buy ponies from the TRI Market (a special Market Place specifically designed for TRI users), care for your ponies, breed ponies and contest.

You will not be permitted to send/receive Private Messages (PMs), purchase ponies from other users (not the TRI Market), sell ponies, or access forums meant for those who have upgraded to USR (User) account status.

If you have decided that PonyIsland is a site you'd like to play on for longer than your trial period, you must pay for a renewal. Renewals come in two sizes; 6 months ($14.00), and 1 year ($23.00). To purchase a renewal for your account, simply go to: My Account > Profile > Payment. All payments are done through the secure site PayPal. You must have your own PayPal account to purchase a renewal, and/or permission from your parents if you are under the age of 16.

By paying for your account, you have upgraded your TRI account to a USR account! USR stands for USER and gives you access to more areas of the site. You are also permitted to do more than you could with a TRI account.

Being a paid USR allows you to access more of the site that was previously restricted as a TRI. The following includes examples of the upgrades your account will receive when you become a paid USR:

• Sending and receiving of Private Messages (PMs)
• Ability to sell to and purchase from other USRs
• Access to previously restricted forums
• Ability to join Associations
• Sending and receiving of Pony Gold (PG)

Paid USRs can have as many accounts as they would like! However! All new accounts must be paid for immediately after creating them. USR accounts are not permitted to have any unpaid TRI accounts - doing so breaks our rules, and consequences will be issued. If you cannot pay for a renewal on your new account immediately after creating it, do not create it until you can.

Every paid USR account has an expiration date. To locate your expiration date simply go to My Account > Profile. On the right hand side you will see two dates; the top date shows when you joined PonyIsland, the bottom date is when your account will expire. When your account expires, you will be very limited in what you can do (** Please see the FAQ section for details). The first notification regarding your account's expiration will be sent out two weeks (14 days) prior to.

Paying for your account can be done the same way as paying for the initial renewal. To do so, go to My Account > Profile > Payment. Payments are only made through the secure website, PayPal.

Why is PonyIsland a pay-to-play website?
First and foremost it's because of a strong dislike for what the internet, in general, has become - an over-sized advertisement. The administrators (VeeZ & ZarqX) wanted to be able to fully control the content of the site to ensure that it is appropriate for all ages, and that all content displayed on the site meets their approval.

Secondly, a place like this does cost a lot to run. Therefore, they had decided to make it a pay site. By doing so, they can afford to keep the site running efficiently and up to date with enough servers and bandwidth to handle everyone on the site.

The administrators also know that the site's users appreciate the fact that with it being a pay site, the users do not get the "internet scum" and scammers that usually haunt free children sites.
