Since 1950, we have been designing machines and solutions to help you as a steel fabricator. Automation is our response to ever-decreasing labor availability and rising labor cost. We can help you lower production costs and improve your margins. Voortman's CNC Beam Drill line can guarantee the highest productivity, accuracy, reliability and quality. Our CNC Beam Drill Lines include many functions, including drilling, milling and marking as well as countersinking, thread tapping, and other functions to optimize productivity and increase automation. Voortman has a wide range of Beam Drill Lines to suit every production and company.

Saw measurement options are available via the Voortman AccuMeasure Roller Feed measurement system. The AccuMeasure allows for complete handling versatility, while maintaining a streamlined CNC solution. Splitting apart a drill and a saw allows neither machine to wait for the other, maximizing production.

AC Unit Installed on Electrical Cabinet – The unit is mounted on the cabinet’s High Power (480v) side. It is close to the location where the drives are mounted. This option keeps the cabinet temperature stable and allows heat dissipation faster. The servo drives for all axes are the most significant contributors to heat inside the electrical cabinet.

Automatic Edge Finder – The edge finder can be used manually (Jogging method & Screen Buttons), programmatically, or fully automated (dedicated programme). This option adjusts offsets and program rotation to match orientation and location on the cutting board.

It is better to import files directly form your steel detailing program. This removes an unnecessary step as well as eliminates potential incorrect data capture. Two distinct camps exist in this regard:

Voortman's Roller Feed Measurement System exceeds industry standards for roller measurement technology. It is essential to ensure that accurate measurements are taken without any delay in production. Even if there are slight variations in the material, accuracy is maintained.

The programming of the CNC Beam Drill Line can be done intuitively even by operators who have never used a computer or CNC.

We at GSS Machinery are often asked by our customers what drill bits should they use – twist drill bits or insert bits? Our number one agenda is to ensure that our customers pursue the lowest cost per hole drilled, as this will make them more competitive and profitable. However it is important that they fully understand their options, Insert Drill Bit (Spade Drill Bit ) Advantages

What is CNC drilling

"..In order to meet customer demand and increase production, our beam drill line was installed. The resulting lower labor costs and faster turnaround times have helped us land quality jobs.

The CNC Beam Drill Line is built exclusively for GSS Machinery by Voortman. Voortman handles the installation, warranty and service work on the CNC Beam Drill Line. And while Voortman is the service provider, GSS Machinery is always there to get involved should the need arise.

CNC Beam Drill Line has a 100% hydraulic motor, which makes maintenance and parts extremely affordable. CNC Drill line was created to be used around the globe and uses components only from major manufacturers. However, many of the parts can be purchased locally. Voortman has all the parts in stock for next-day delivery to the USA. In many of our overseas countries, we offer local support and service.

Voortman AccuMeasure Roller Feed measurement equipment offers saw measurement options. AccuMeasure provides complete handling versatility while offering a simple, streamlined CNC solution. This allows for both a drill and saw to be disassembled, which maximizes production.

This range can move along the profile easily and offer a wide range of automated functions. It can process I andH beams, channels and flat bars, angle irons, channel, rectangular tubes, square tubes, and T bars respectively. Automated processing of already assembled metal profiles is possible without the need for programming.

This ability to mill efficiently speeds up project completion. The Advantage-2 user-friendly Raptor 3DCAD/CAM software allows the operator to quickly program parts. The 3D platform allows you to inspect, modify, and export your part information. Advantage-2 drill's greatest advantages are the ability to scribe and mill slots as well as large lifting holes. This machine is truly unique. The scribing allows us to place piece marks, layout lines, and center points. It's been great to have the flexibility to use it whenever we want and to make those decisions.

Frequently Asked Questions

American Standard S-Beam, a type I-beam, is resistant to bending and shear loads. It is used in construction, shipbuilding, as well as other industries. An S-beam is similar to an I-beam but has tapered flanges which slope away from its inside surface.

The beam drill line is important in large-sized structural fabrication shops. These machines are used to drill precise holes in beams, angles, or sections of bar stock. They can be quick and efficient at laying large structural members.

It is possible to drill into metal screws without causing damage. In many cases, drilling into metal screws will be necessary. If you're using the stud for weight bearing, drill pilot holes first.

As we all know, T-beam casting with slab is possible. Its flange absorbs compressive stress which means it will resist greater sagging moments of beam. The beam's depth is lower than ordinary beam, which gives you more headroom. For beam deflection reduction, T-beam is preferred over ordinary beam.

Use a slow speed to drill. The slower a bit spins the more hot it becomes. And heat dulls bits quickly. It is a good idea for drill bits to be used at a slow speed when drilling through metal. Drill bits for hard metals such as steel and larger diameters require slower speeds.
