Capacitors reforming

Why Capacitors reforming ?⚓
If the Clean Power VFD has been non-operational for more than one year, Electrolytic DC capacitors of the DC bus need to be reformed.
The reforming time is a function of the time that the unit has been non-operational.
Without reforming, the capacitors can get damaged when the Clean Power VFD starts to operate
Reforming time⚓
Based on the unit production date code check the Clean Power VFD age.
The production date information indicated on the Clean Power VFD's side label . More detail in this Chapter "Unboxing"- section "VFD name plate description
If the Clean Power VFD has been stocked (non-operational) for 1 year and less, No re-forming is required
If the converter has been stocked (non-operational) for 1 year to 2 years:
Switch the power on the Clean Power VFD for one hour.
Do not load the Clean Power VFD until finish this process.
If the Clean Power VFD has been stocked (non-operational) for more than 2 years, refer to the following diagram to select the reforming time:
Reforming instruction⚓
Note:
Make sure that the converter is clean and dry (Without condensation) before starting the reforming.
Disconnect all the possible input/output power connections.
Ensure that the converter is not energized:
Using a high-voltage voltmeter, check the voltage of input lines L1, L2 and L3 to the earth connection. It must be less than 10V RMS, Otherwise, wait till it discharges to this value or lower.
Check the DC voltage of the drive DC+ and DC- and their voltages to the earth connection. It must be less than 10V RMS, Otherwise, wait till it discharges to this value or lower.
Connect a DC power supply to the DC+ and DC- of the Clean Power VFD.
Ensure that the current of the DC power supply is limited to 500mA

If the power Supply can not limit the output current, use an external resistor to limit its current)

Procedure
ramp-up the voltage to 50% of DC bus voltage for 30 minutes.
ramp-up the voltage to 75% of DC bus voltage for 30 minutes.
ramp-up the voltage to 100% of DC bus voltage for the rest of the reforming time.
