As the leading provider of continuing education for pathologists and medical laboratory professionals, ASCP enhances the quality of the profession through comprehensive, innovative educational programs. ASCP introduced a new online Patient Safety Course this year. This patient-centric focused class was, for example, designed specifically for pathologists and can be used to meet Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II requirements. Leading experts in the field contributed their expertise to the comprehensive course and developed it in advance of a requirement to complete a patient safety course, which will be necessary for pathologists to participate in MOC to recertify with the American Board of Pathology after July 1, 2013.
