ASCP launched its new Institute for Science, Technology, and Policy this year. The Washington, D.C.-based Institute is home to the Center for Public Policy and the Center for Science and Technology. Through these Centers, ASCP will foster work in the areas of evidence-based practice, patient-centered outcomes, health service delivery, precision diagnostics, new technology delivery, industry relations, and scientific ambassadorship. In the policy arena, ASCP will continue to work on behalf of members through advocacy, government relations, and collaborations.

An emphasis on patient-centered, evidence-based science enables ASCP to provide tangible data to educate lawmakers. ASCP’s legislative and regulatory advocacy initiatives span a broad spectrum of issues, reach a multitude of decision makers, and profoundly affect the profession.

“The new Institute integrates the science, technology, and public policy efforts of ASCP, so that we can be more effective in all arenas,” said ASCP Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy Jeff Jacobs. “The launch of
the Institute is a seminal event.”
