Update: 124th Avenue Extension Project
FY 2017–18 saw the beginning of the end of the 124th Avenue
Extension Project. The $33 million project is expected to be largely
complete by late 2018—following 10 years of planning, public com-
ment, meetings and an additional three years of construction.
An impressive 12,800 feet of Willamette Water Supply Program
Basalt Creek Parkway 2017 SW Grahams Ferry Road 2017 (WWSP) pipeline was installed on 124th Avenue in FY 2017–18, as
the collaborative road construction and pipeline installation project
moved towards completion.
Renus Kelfkens, Project Manager, said other work completed in FY
2017–18 included:
» August 2017: Completion of Basalt Creek Parkway,
a new 0.7-mile arterial connecting SW Tonquin Road
and SW 124th Avenue to Grahams Ferry Road.
» April 2018: Construction of right-turn lanes from
Tualatin Sherwood Road onto 124th Avenue.
» June 2018: Tonquin Road widened to three
lanes, between Basalt Creek Parkway and
Grahams Ferry Road.
» June 2018: Improvements to the Tonquin Road rail
crossing, which carries TriMet’s WES Commuter Rail.
Work completed in FY 2018–19 included:
» August 2018: Installation of an additional
1,250 feet of WWSP pipeline.
» October 2018: Widening of Grahams Ferry Road,
between Day and Tonquin roads.
» October 2018: Improvements to the Grahams Ferry
and Tonquin roads intersection.
