The ByteLight App Platform is what takes ByteLight enabled bulbs and transforms them into indoor location beacons. Mapping out a location with lights, creating and deploying content to be delivered within a space, choosing who sees what content when a signal is received - the App Platform is the tool that makes all of this possible. My goal was to take a fairly complex process and turn it into something that was simple and could be easily used without special training or setup. It needed to work right out of the box.
There are two main parts to this platform. A mobile app for mapping out lights within a space and a web platform to manage content, users, and multiple locations where applicable (i.e. a big box store with 100 ByteLight enabled locations). We also developed an analytics platfrom to give an in-depth look into in-store customer behavior.
An incredibly simple tablet application, the Configuration App made mapping ByteLights as simple as walking around a space, standing under a light, and tapping your location on a map. Something so simple it can be done by any employee whenever necessary.
The web platform allows you to upload and configure maps, manage multiple locations, control what content lights deliver, group lights, and manage users and their level of access. We also created a simple web-based editor to allow for fast and easy creation of new content.
And a simplistic analytics dashboard for ByteLight enabled spaces meant to give users a quick and easy way to view the location data of their space, even at just a glance.
I did all design, UX, and front end html/css code for the ByteLight App Platform.
