After clamps are removed, web is passed to the tacking fixture. The welding equipment consists of a welding head with fluxhopper, travel carriage, controls, and a 1,000 Amp supply. Full-color, laser-projected systems will provide all the information required to accurately tackweld connections in the beam or other connections.
Operator uses the "IN conveyor to bring the beam to the desired starting position. He then selects one of the preset programs (welding rate, wire speed and voltage) and pushes "START". The complete sequence of operations including positioning and movement of the welding heads, start/stop of the welding process on stationary or moveable sides, activation and stop of copper back-up assembly and pressure cylinders, as well as the total sequence of operations, will be performed automatically.
It's designed to bend, compress and contract at the top while being tensed at its bottom. This means that you can find many different uses for it. These are just some of many reasons to use I beams. There are other reasons, too, like its flexibility.
