For crane beam manufacturers, a special Beam Layout Welding Head design is available. The top flange of crane beams is a "C" channel with the short sides pointing inwards towards the beam.
It is typically considered better than the laser beam welding machines. There are situations where EBW devices are more useful and efficient. It can be described as "I beam", because it appears to take on the form of the letter "I" when it is front-facing.
An Automated Structural Steel Beam Welding System can be described as a robotic welding machine that is specifically designed for structural steel fabricators. It offers a compact footprint, complete robotic automation, and integration with specialized software. The robotic welding solution can be applied to any size fabrication shop.
It is now possible to make custom beams at a fraction of the cost. Beam Layout Welding will increase your production on both tapered and straight beams. It automatically joins the beam's flanges, allowing for maximum penetration of up to 1/2" web and 1 1/2" flange. The PHI System produces a fillet joint between the web, flange. Welds are uniform in quality and conform to construction codes.
The Beam Layout Welding automated welding machine can be fully customized and used for joining heavy-duty structural steel boxes sections. This machine is ideal for the civil construction and oil & Gas industries. The Beam Layout Welding Machine is equipped to perform component clamping and rotation through the tailstock as well. Beam Layout Welding has a linear axis that controls XYZ, Z, and laser seam-tracking devices. There is also a wire feeding system. The integrated control and motor drives allow for full automation.
The tacking fixture can be used to assemble the beam before it is sent to the Main welder. The web is brought in from the seam welded and flange storage racks. They are then moved to the tacking fixture where they are placed before tacking the beam's leading edge. A manual operator can load the flanges on conveyors, or an automated process using PHI’s flange-loading Gantry.
Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. understands that not all fabricators will have the same needs. The nature and processes of different tasks can make it difficult to find the right machine for you. We have gathered only the most suitable structural fabrication machines to meet your needs. We have the right machine for you, no matter what your budget.
A welded beam consists of three individual sections of steel – a web, a top flange and a bottom flange. These segments are merged together with deep fillet welds to create an incredibly robust building material.
