HSM Video #2: Blaster’s Paradise

NorseGamer can be a real (EXPLETIVE) pain in the (EXPLETIVE) (EXPLETIVE) sometimes.
So I get a call from him:
NORSE: “Your first video was a huge hit! You absolutely nailed what we were looking for!”
IRISH: “Thanks, Norse. Now what do you want?”
NORSE: “Huh?”
IRISH: “When NorseGamer’s voice is smiling, he wants something. What is it.”
NORSE: “…Um, I was kinda hoping you’d do another video.”
IRISH: “I knew it. What is it this time?”
NORSE: “Well, Outso’s come out with this truly amazing Sodium-themed personal estate — Blaster’s Paradise — and you know how much of a Sodium freak I am. Think you could put together a video which kinda hits some of the emotional high points of the Sodium experience and gives a teaser of the new estate? I don’t want it to be just another virtual tour; I want the video to capture the emotional highs that Sodium and Blaster’s Paradise can evoke.”
IRISH: “…I suppose I could do it, yeah.”
NORSE: “Oh, and I kinda need it done in the next 24 hours.”
IRISH: “YOU (EXPLETIVE) SON OF A (EXPLETIVE)! YOU EXPECT ME TO GET IT ALL DONE IN ONE DAY!?!? I damn near went BLIND putting together the LAST one!”
NORSE: “I know, I know, but you’re a pro! I know you can pull it off. I wouldn’t give you this challenge if I didn’t think you were up for it. You’ve got a lot of skill as a filmmaker, you know. I need it done right now, and I can’t–”
IRISH: “Fine, fine, fine. Fine. Just know that I have a knife. And I’m going to murder you. Accept it.”
NORSE: “Right, sounds good. Thanks! I knew I could count on you.” (Click.)
(So help me, Norse, one of these days…)
Right, then. Anyway. Blaster’s Paradise.
It’s amazing.
I’ve already read SealWyf’s review of it here on the HomeStation website, and she pretty much sums up everything that needs to be said about it. For my part, all I can say is that it reminds me of the spaceship wreckage on the lush and verdant Unknown World from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It has that wonderful, futuristic blend of technology and nature which Outso is so good at fusing together. And the mini-game, TankTop, is a complete and total win. The price of the space itself is practically justified solely by the game.
Anyway: with only 24 hours to film, edit and mix this thing, here’s HomeStation Magazine’s video of Blaster’s Paradise and the Sodium experience.

It’s a nice space. It’s large and the game is fun. They have a beach although it would have been nice if we could have walked in the water. Just hope we earn credits for playing the game.
