Download Pidgin

• Goto Accounts -> Manage Accounts -> Add
• Choose XMPP for the protocol and fill in your account details as follows:
  • Username: Your HomeStation Magazine Username
  • Domain: hsm.psho.me
  • Password: Your HomeStation Magazine Password
  • Tick Remember Password if you like
• If it asks you to confirm a certificate, press Accept
• To access the HomeStation Magazine Chat Room:
  • Goto Buddies -> Add Chat
  • Choose your hsm.psho.me account from the dropdown and enter the following:
    • Room: main
    • Server: chat.psho.me
  • Click Add, the main chat room will now appear in Pidgin
• To add HomeStation Magazine Friends:
  • Goto Buddies -> Add Buddy
  • Choose your hsm.psho.me account from the dropdown
  • Enter into Buddy’s Username: (your friend’s HomeStation Magazine account)@hsm.psho.me
  • Click Add and you will have sent them a request to become chat buddies
  • Note: Your friend must be logged into the hsm.psho.me chat server using a chat client too

Psi

Download Psi

• Start Psi and choose Use existing account, entering the following details:
  • Jabber ID: Your HomeStation Magazine Username@hsm.psho.me
  • Password: Your HomeStation Magazine Password
  • Tick connect automatically etc.
  • If it asks you about a certificate, click Trust certificate
• To access the HomeStation Magazine Chat Room:
  • Goto General -> Join Groupchat and fill in:
    • Host: chat.psho.me
    • Room: main
• To add HomeStation Magazine Friends:
  • Goto General -> Add a contact
  • Enter into Jabber ID: (your friend’s HomeStation Magazine account)@hsm.psho.me
  • Click Add and you will have sent them a request to become chat buddies
  • Note: Your friend must be logged into the hsm.psho.me chat server using a chat client too

Trillian

Download Trillian

• Start Trillian and goto Trillian -> Manage Connections -> Add a new connection -> Jabber/XMPP and fill in:
  • Jabber ID: Your HomeStation Magazine Username@hsm.psho.me
  • Password: Your HomeStation Magazine Password
  • Tick connect automatically at startup etc.
• To access the HomeStation Magazine Chat Room:
  • Click the sphere representing your PSHo.me connection (mine is purple) and goto Browse for Conferences
  • Click the Main Chat room on the list to join
• To add HomeStation Magazine Friends:
  • Goto Trillian -> Add a contact
  • Make sure your Jabber/XMPP PSHo.me account is selected
  • Enter into Username: (your friend’s HomeStation Magazine account)@hsm.psho.me
  • Click Add and you will have sent them a request to become chat buddies
  • Note: Your friend must be logged into the hsm.psho.me chat server using a chat client too

Pandion

Download Pandion

• Start Pandion sign in with:
  • Address: Your HomeStation Magazine Username@hsm.psho.me
  • Password: Your HomeStation Magazine Password
  • Tick connect automatically etc.
  • If it asks you about a certificate, click Trust certificate
• To access the HomeStation Magazine Chat Room:
  • Goto Actions -> Bookmarked Conference Rooms -> Add a Bookmark and fill in:
    • Conference Room Address: main@chat.psho.me
    • Tick Join this conference room when logging in if desired
  • You can now find the main chat room in your bookmarks (and it will open automatically on login if you chose)
• To add HomeStation Magazine Friends:
  • Goto Actions -> Add a contact
  • Enter into Username: (your friend’s HomeStation Magazine account)@hsm.psho.me
  • Click Next and you will have sent them a request to become chat buddies
  • Note: Your friend must be logged into the hsm.psho.me chat server using a chat client too
  • You can also use the search feature to find your friends. They will only appear in this list if they have logged into the chat server using a chat client

Spark

Download Spark

• Login using:
  • Username: Your HomeStation Magazine Username
  • Password: Your HomeStation Magazine Password
  • Server: hsm.psho.me
• To access the HomeStation Magazine Chat Room:
  • Goto Actions -> Join Conference Room
  • If no rooms have loaded, click Refresh
  • Select the chat room at Address: main and click Bookmark room
  • Now you can quick-join the HomeStation Magazine Chat Room from the Bookmarks menu or click Join room to jump in straight away
• To add HomeStation Magazine Friends:
  • Goto Contacts -> Add a contact
  • Enter into Username: (your friend’s HomeStation Magazine account)@hsm.psho.me
  • Click Add and you will have sent them a request to become chat buddies
  • Note: Your friend must be logged into the server using a chat client too
