The Church of Saint Søren
An Internet Community of Existential Spirituality

The Church of Saint Søren began to operate on Feb. 14, 2003,
with the distribution of the first cyber-sermon.
This Internet gathering of like-minded people
from all over the world operates by means of
an electronic mailing list and this website.

We seek to explore and extend the possibilities of spirit
that were opened up by Soren Kierkegaard (1813-1855).
We would like to expand his beginnings
into a full, living tradition of existential spirtuality.

Existential spirituality is outlined in the first cyber-sermon:
"Introducing Existential Spirituality" .

Several books exploring existential spirituality are reviewed here:
Existential Spirituality Bibliography.
This bibliography includes reviews of
several books by Soren Kierkegaard.

But this Internet community did not engage in Kierkegaard scholarship.
Discussion of what Kierkegaard wrote and what he meant
were not a part of the Church of St. Soren.
Just as SK himself would not have spent his life
interpreting his past written works
but would have continued to create new and original thoughts,
so we will endeavor to extend his tradition.
If SK were alive today, what would he have to say?

We shall seek to go forward from his foundation.
Existential spirituality is not an academic interest.
Rather it is a living possibility.

THE EXISTENTIAL FREEDOM GROUP

In the middle of the first decade of the 21st century,
a Yahoo group was established under the name:
the Existential Freedom Group---see below.
The Church of St. Soren was merged into this group.

The Existential Freedom Group will continue as an e-mailing list,
which allows all subscribers to share ideas with all others.
This is an open group, open to all interested persons.

 FACEBOOK PAGE: EXISTENTIAL SPIRITUALITY

    At the beginning of 2009,
a Facebook Page was created called Existential Spirituality.
This group is open to anyone on Facebook.
And anyone with Internet access can join Facebook:
Go to http://www.facebook.com.
All you need is an e-mail address and a password.
There is no cost associated with anything you do on Facebook.
Then search Facebook for: "Existential Spirituality".
Click to become a 'fan'.

By these means on the Internet,
people who live anywhere in the world
are able to find one another.
