Links Menu¶
SEOToolSet’s link reporting tools available to SEOToolSet users require an integration with Majestic’s link index database.
If you have your own Majestic account (Silver level or above), you may provide an access token to authorize the SEOToolSet to pull data for link reports. Go to https://majestic.com/apps/Q8U79UX9 to obtain your Majestic access token. Otherwise, you can pay an additional monthly fee for link data access for your SEOToolSet project.
NOTE: If you attended SEOToolSet Training, Majestic link data is automatically included during your training account subscription period.
Historical Link Summary¶
Links > Historical Link Summary
The Historical Link Summary report shows a history of inbound linking to the project website. The table itemizes the number of links found each time the SEOToolSet pulled the data. A bar graph lets you compare fluctuations from month to month, as it shows the highest number of inbound links found during each month. Historical link data is taken from Majestic.
Inbound Links¶
Links > Inbound Link Report
The Inbound Links report provides inbound link data for the project website, pulled via a Majestic API. The report may contain links that can pass PageRank value as well as those with a rel=”nofollow” tag.
Once the report is displayed, you can:
- Sort the data based on any column by clicking its column heading.
- Use the Search box in the upper-right corner to locate any snippet of text, such as a domain name, and see link data that matches.
- Click the Export button to save the report as CSV for import into a spreadsheet program such as Excel.
This report includes the following data about links pointing to the website:
- Source URL: The URL of the linking page.
- Target URL: Page on your site that is being linked to.
- Anchor Text: The text that can be clicked in a text link, or the alt attribute text for an image link.
- Citation Flow: Citation Flow, a trademark of Majestic, is a score between 0 (low) and 100 (high) that indicates the link equity the website or link carries. Citation flow is used in conjunction with Trust Flow. (For more details, see https://majestic.com/support/glossary#CitationFlow.)
- Trust Flow: Trust Flow, a trademark of Majestic, is a score between 0 (low) and 100 (high) that indicates the trustworthiness of a seed site based in part on the quality of their inbound links. (For more details, see https://majestic.com/support/glossary#TrustFlow.)
- Alt Text: The contents of the alt attribute in an image link (applicable only for image links).
- Image: If the inbound link is from an image, a green check mark appears.
- NoFollow: If the inbound link contains a rel=”nofollow” tag (so that the link does not pass PageRank), a green check mark appears.
- Last Seen On: The date this link was most recently detected in a data pull from Majestic.
Outbound Links¶
Links > Outbound Link Report
The Outbound Links report shows all of the links found on the project website that point to external sites. Outbound link data is gathered by the SEOToolSet’s proprietary crawler.
Once the report is displayed, you can:
- Use the Search box to locate any snippet of text, such as a domain or subfolder name, and see outgoing link data that contains that text.
- Sort the data by clicking the desired column heading.
- Click the Export button if you want to save the data in CSV format to work with in a spreadsheet program such as Excel.
Data in the Outbound Links report includes:
- Source URL: The URL of the linking page.
- Target URL: Page on your site that is being linked to.
- Anchor Text: The text that can be clicked in a text link, or the alt attribute text for an image link.
- NoFollow: If the inbound link contains a rel=”nofollow” tag (which means the link does not pass PageRank), a green check mark appears.
