Best Memes Of 2011

If you use your computer for more than running this year's TurboTax, you know what a meme is. While we love a good troll face or sad Keanu, some recent additions to the meme family this year deserve a shout out. Here are the best memes of 2011!

From 4chan to LOL-Comics, the memes of the Internet have been growing at an alarming rate. Year after year, the next big troll face or prancing Cera seems to be just in reach. Even though troll face will never be taken off his Internet throne, as troll face appearances seem to be more and more common, some memes come very close to reaching his popularity. The memes of 2011 are no different. From the ridiculousness of Planking to the hilarity of Rebecca Black's "Friday," here are the best memes of 2011.

Chuck Testa

Was that a meme just now?

Nope! Chuck Testa.

This so-bad-it's-good TV commercial for Ojai Valley Taxidermy achieved meme status instantly. The video alone has the potential to go down in meme history, but then people started bringing back everyone from Tupac to Jesus, yelling, "Nope! Chuck Testa," right when I started getting excited.

You probably thought this website was real.

Nope! Chuck Testa.

Scumbag Steve

Scumbag Steve is that friend we all have who is basically there to mooch off our success. I have a Scumbag Steve, you have a Scumbag steve, it's just the way the world works.

Since his initial scumbaggery, Scumbag Steve has spawned the likes of Good Guy Greg, the antithesis of Scumbag Steve. Together, they say all the things you see your friends doing. Not to mention, who can forget that Scumbag Steve spawned UGO's own Skyrim Scumbag Jarl?

Just stop borrowing my $#!^ and breaking it Steve.

What If Michael Vick Were

The initial post on ESPN.Go.com, entitled, What If Michael Vick Were White?, was met by fans with outrage and disgust. Eventually, as the internet has taught me, all that dies down and then the laughter can begin.

The post argued that Michael Vick wouldn't have been punished less severely for his dog fighting shenanigans had he been white, but the author of the essay had no idea ESPN planned on pairing his work with a Photoshopped image of Michael Vick as a Caucasian male.

Since then, mock images have been paired with the text, "what if Michael Vick was an actual eagle?" and "what if Michael Vick were made out of spare ribs?"

Would you eat him?

Friend Zone Fiona

Just as Scumbag Steve and Good Guy Greg, everyone has a Friend Zone Fiona. She loves you, like a brother. She wants to kiss you, on the cheek. She wants to hold your hand, because she might fall. It's not what you think, dude. Get out of there while you still can.

Friend Zone Fiona knows I have the confidence, good looks and charisma to get any girl I want, just not her. Consequently, she's the only girl I want. Seriously, get out of here Fiona. There's no way I'm becoming the next Friend-Zoned Phil.

Arrow In The Knee

Gamer or not, no one can deny the insane popularity of this year's newest epic adventure game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Just take a look at Skyrim's Creppiest Mods, Skyrim's Best Videos and Skyrim: Stuff To Roll Down Hills and tell me you're not interested. It has even spawned a few memes.

The most popular meme is, of course, the arrow in the knee bit. The guards of cities in the game walk around belittling every epic thing you do by stating they "used to be an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow in the knee.

Yeah? That's nice. Did a dragon shoot you in the knee with that arrow? Because that's the only way I'm going to be impressed.
