Dana White was there. Randy Couture was
there. Georges St. Pierre was there, one day braving a seven hour
line. St. Pierre was like a rock star. After signing until his hand
fell off, GSP was escorted from the building by several beefy security guards
as fans ran along side, screaming and trying to snap what were surely
blurry-as-all-hell photos of the welterweight star. This sport has most
definitely arrived.
Other fighters weren't exactly swarmed. I saw former TUF star Justin Wren
walk through largely unnoticed. He seemed O.K with this. Shonie
Carter, another former reality show standout, was actively looking for
attention. With a top hat, suit and cane, Carter was debonair. Fans may
not have known who he was exactly, but they knew he was somebody.
