UFC 114 was largely a one-act show. When
Forrest Griffin dropped out of his semi-main event fight after shoulder
surgery, Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson were left to carry the ball on their
own. The two were more than up to the task.
After a season of TUF, followed by three highly rated Primetime specials on
Spike TV, fans were geared up to see the two butt heads. The arena was
electric and fans were clicking buttons on their remotes frantically in a
desperate attempt to buy the pay per view (an estimated 925,000 did just that).
In the end, Rashad dominated a tactical three round struggle. Evans will move
on to face the light heavyweight champ Mauricio Rua. Jackson will move on and
hopefully not kill anyone on his A-Team publicity tour.
