James Badge Dale is coming down to meet me on the set of AMC’s new mystery show Rubicon. Except he’s not meeting me on set, he’s actually at the back of the set in his office, so I head back there to meet him. He’s not there either, a PA informs me when I'm halfway there: he’s upstairs on the second floor. As soon as I head up there, now he’s up on the fifth floor.
So where was Dale when I finally met up with him? A secret hallway, of course. He isn’t just trying to solve the mysteries of Rubicon – he’s living them.
And while I am poking fun here a bit, when we did talk, Dale was in awe of the mind-bending puzzles that await viewers when the show premieres (officially – there was a preview episode broadcast about a month ago), as well as his fellow actors – and the use of New York City as a backdrop.
