Well, it's been a pretty fantastic week gearing up for Epix's debut of The Captains. We've learned a lot from Mr. Shatner, but today's clip may have the only one with a message - how to get through to a city detective that won't take you seriously. The answer? Whine!
This clip from the 1988 TV movie Broken Angel about the evil crack gangs will get Trekkies all hot and bothered. Yes, that is Brock Peters, who'd already played Fleet Admiral Cartwright in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, would do so again in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, then later play Ben Sisko's restaurant-owning father on many episodes of Deep Space Nine.
What is Shatnerpalooza, you ask? It is a time where we step back and honor the sweetest thing to drip down from Canada since maple syrup.
The good people at Epix are counting down to their debut of The Captains, a documentary about the different men and women who've sat in the center seat for the various incarnations of Star Trek. It is directed by the ur-Captain himself, William Shatner.
In addition to hosting special events (Comic-Con on the west coast, the freaking deck of the USS Intrepid in NYC!) Epix is asking fans to join The Long Khan. Yes, friends - you too can upload a video and join B-Shat in a wrath-fueled interplanetary yawp at Ricardo Montalban.
