Auto Standoff - This is a surface standoff, and should not be confused in any way with vector standoff using 5-axis mode. Auto stand-off will adjust vertically according to the angle of "A" Axis. There are five (5) axis that are considered during calculations. The machine can be controlled manually using buttons on its screen to make the vector standoff change.

Beam drills can be a valuable tool in large and medium-sized structural fabrication shops. Beam drills are able to drill holes in a wide range of steel profiles, at different lengths, using CNC controlled programming. These machines make it possible to eliminate the need for manually drawing or laying out the positions. This lengthy process can take up to a week and requires multiple workers. Our beam drill machines have central lubrication, a cooling system, and linear guides to make them easier to use and require less maintenance. Each coordinate system includes a 4 station tool changer. This allows it drill, mill/scribe, counter sink or tap as many times as required. Additionally, tools can be swapped easily during operation. Positive beam positioning is an arm that attaches to a rack on the conveyor. This allows the beam position to be more precisely controlled as it moves through a drill line.

Automatic Edge Finder – The edge finder can be used manually (Jogging method & Screen Buttons), programmatically, or fully automated (dedicated programme). This option adjusts offsets and program rotation to match orientation and location on the cutting board.

Voortman exclusively designed and built the CNC Drill Line to fit GSS Machinery. Voortman oversees all aspects of the CNC Drill Line, including warranty and service. Voortman acts as the service provider. GSS Machinery will always assist should the need arise.

To ensure smooth operation and low maintenance, our beam drill machine machines come with linear guides and central lubrication. A 4-station tool changer is included in each coordinate system. It allows it to drill/mill, scribe/counter sink or tap as necessary. The tools can also be changed easily mid-operation. An arm attached to the rack and pinion on the feed conveyor is used to position the beam while it passes through the drill. Our steel beam drill lines are much more accurate that friction roller machines.

Our beam drill line machines feature central lubrication and linear guides. This ensures smooth operation and less maintenance. Each coordinate system has a 4-station tool changer that allows it to drill, mill and scribe as well as counter sink or tap. It can also swap tools mid-operation without any disruption. The positive beam positioning system consists of an arm attached on the feed conveyor to a rack-and-pinion system. This allows the beam to be positioned more precisely as it passes through the drill line.

C-Channel. . . . This beam profile is very popular for auxiliary beams. Although it is also used for main beams it is more popular for cross members. C-Channel is usually stronger than tube in the vertical direction (as shown in the beam profile chart image).
