The CNC Beam Drill Line can be programmed manually at the machine or in the office using the supplied Peddimat software. This software comes included with the AVENGER and can be installed on as many PCs in your office as you choose — this unlimited license is included with the purchase of your machine. It is the same software that is found on the machine itself and is the same software used on the CNC Beam Drill Line and all Voortman CNC fabricating machinery.

This Morse Taper Chuck adaptor allows for standard parallel shank drill bits to be used when drilling smaller diameters. It permits a maximum drill size of? It permits a maximum diameter of 12mm (12mm) as well as a minimum diameter 3/64’’ (1mm).

Programming of the CNC Beam Drill Line is very simple even when done manually. The machine programming software is Peddimat and most operators can learn how to program most parts in less than an hour. Of course practice makes perfect. However the best way to program the machine is to import parts directly from a CAD drawing preferably done in some 3-D modeling software such as Tekla Structures, SDS/2, ProSteel 3D, StruMis etc. These files import directly into the machine and the operator merely selects the part to be processed and hits the Cycle Start button.

Z-Reader Probe- This probe maps the surface's location. It can be operated manually and programmatically. The option is removed from danger and is not active while the cutting process is underway. It can be used for surface mapping or to verify surface at each point before the cutting process begins. It is responsible for initialization, or zeroing the device on the surface at beginning of a program. From there it tracks the difference or accumulates them.

Voortman-designed beam drilling lines have intelligence not only in their own capabilities but also in the fact that they can be plugged into any environment because of their modularity. Tandem solutions, such as band saws with robotic coppers or PeddiWriters, expand the shop’s throughput positioning. It allows for a more cost-effective approach when the steel sector cools down and a more aggressive one when it heats. Voortman invented the Multmaster, which can be used to advance small parts into a tandem-bandsaw. Fabricators are more profitable when they use the whole profile and minimize the remnant. Do you want more output? Check. Material handling is key to any Voortman CNC drill-line profit. Fabricators not only lose money when a profile is manually moved but material handling is far safer than using fork trucks and cranes to move the largest profiles.

To ensure smooth operation and low maintenance, our beam drill machine machines come with linear guides and central lubrication. A 4-station tool changer is included in each coordinate system. It allows it to drill/mill, scribe/counter sink or tap as necessary. The tools can also be changed easily mid-operation. An arm attached to the rack and pinion on the feed conveyor is used to position the beam while it passes through the drill. Our steel beam drill lines are much more accurate that friction roller machines.

What is beam strength

The Advantage-2 is powered with 25 HP (18.5kW), Siemens spindle motors. Each drill spindle has 5-station tool changers. This advanced drilling technology ensures maximum operating time, drill hole quality and efficiency.

Advantage-2 uses a variety of support clamps to ensure maximum rigidity through the machine. Carbide tool life can be extended by reducing vibrations as much as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

A box (or square shell) is the best shape in 2D for both directions. However, a cylindrical shell, or tube, is more efficient for bending in any direction. The I, or wide flange beam, is better for unidirectional bending.

To resist and redistribute load, beams should bend. The girders on the other side are more rigid as they support the beams and provide horizontal support to the structure. The girder is designed to support large, all-encompassing loads like beam responses or structural pillars.

Drill blowout can be prevented by attaching a scrap of wood to the backside the piece that you are drilling on. When you drill the whole, wood that would have otherwise "blown out", hits the scrap wood instead and stays in place.

C-channel frames are stronger against rust.
