Three torches are usually used for multiple torch or triple torch CNC beam-coping machines. Each torch is dedicated to a specific flange or web. The 3-tower machine has a shorter positioning time than the single torch one, but the single torch machine can still do more cuts than existing triple torch machines because of the 5-axis movement in the cutting head. Additionally, triple torch machines tend to be 3-4x more expensive than single torch CNC beam cutter coping machines.

These two features are engineered to improve cut precision, and they’re not found on all beam coping machines. However, they are included standard with Voortman.

Voortman has the ability to import DXF and can use them in order to process 3-D forms as long as the steel details are followed precisely. Some of these might be different from the way you are detailing the steel at the moment, and might need some adjustments. This process isn't as seamless as the 3D modeling software solutions.

AutoCAD is an architectural tool that allows you to export flat 2-D shapes to plate processing machines. Its inability to export 3-D shapes, such beams, channels and angles, is where it falls short. AutoCAD exports DWG and DXF DWG files which are great for creating plates.

Voortman will then be able to start coping with perfect material by simply loading it and pressing the Start button.
