Chat with Coach

If your district purchases Coaching licenses, then you may have a Coachly tab in your HMH Ed™ banner. Coachly provides you with one-on-one coaching from trained HMH professionals, which includes the option to communicate with your coach (or coaches) using the chat feature as well as live sessions. Instructions for using the messaging feature to chat with a coach are provided below.

To chat with a coach:

 

1.    In the Ed banner, click the Coachly tab.

2.    (If necessary) Select the coach with whom you want to chat, by doing the following:

 

3.    Click the Chat tab. The Chat panel appears with a message box at the bottom.

4.    Type your message in the box, and then click the arrow button to send.

Notes about messages:

      Messages are text-only.

      All messages include time indexes.

      For messages sent or received prior to the current day, date indexes and date blocks are displayed.

      You can expect a response from your coach within 24 hours of sending a message.

      Message can be up to 500 characters.

      If a message fails to send due to a system error, an alert displays in the chat window recommending that the page be refreshed.

      Coachly tab showing a red circle with the number 2When you have a message response, a red numeric notification appears beside the Coachly tab in your banner. This notification appears as soon as you log into Ed and specifies how many unread messages are pending.

When you open Coachly, message notifications appear as a yellow icon beside the Chat tab.
