Moselkern

Our final stop along the Mosel-Radweg is Moselkern.  The main attraction for Moselkern is its proximity to Burg Eltz, a castle in the forest that has been left intact for 700 years, and is decorated and furnished throughout much as it was 500 years ago.  It's been in the same family for 850 years.

Getting There

It's a rather short ride from Bruttig-Fankel to Moselkern - only about 16 miles.  We may choose to ride a little further up the Mosel-Radweg, perhaps as far as Niederfell (another ~10 miles) and then return to Moselkern.  For Burg Eltz either the afternoon we arrive or the next day, we can walk from Moselkern (about 1.5 hrs) or cycle to the parking lot and walk from there.
