promote walking, bicycling and transit options for residents and workers in Washington County.
• Strategy 8.6.2 Consider developing a countywide Safe Routes to School program in partnership
with school districts.
• Strategy 8.6.3 Develop wayfinding signage guidelines in coordination with Metro, cities and
THPRD and incorporate signage into proposed Neighborhood Bikeway, trail, streetscape and
other appropriate improvement projects, as funding allows.
• Strategy 8.6.4 Coordinate with the Washington County Department of Health and Human
Services and other health organizations to promote and measure the public health benefits of
active transportation.
• Strategy 8.6.5 Develop active transportation performance measures, including mode share
targets.
