The Riding
House Café
London

Lobster Benedict, eggs Hussard, buttermilk
pancakes... it’s clear this New York-inspired
brasserie takes its weekend brunch
(11.30am–4pm) very seriously indeed.
Housed in a former rag-trade showroom, its
shabby-chic stylings and dazzling array of
dishes have brought a steady flow of smart
patrons, even playing a part in reviving an
uninspiring patch of the West End.

The head chef is a Swede, which no doubt explains why the
Scandinavian influence extends far beyond the Swedish brunch
menu at this quirky bicycle-themed café. The long communal tables,
minimalist aesthetic, and cycling memorabilia on the walls and
ceiling all combine to provide a suitably Nordic ambiance to enjoy
the likes of smoked salmon and blinis, and prawns with dill and
lumpfish-roe mayo.
