Snorkeling is great around the St. Andrews State Park beach, and also on Shell Island. You can find habitats on sand bottoms as well as shallow grass flats and the rock faces of the jetties. There will be tropical fish, crabs or rays. You might also see a few resident bottlenose dolphins.

Once you get there it is all worth it, as it is the most beautiful water I've ever seen. It is like you are swimming in a pool it is so crystal clear. We didn't know what to expect with this so we went planning to spend a few hours on the island. Come expecting to spend all day!
St Andrews is one of our favorite state parks. I hope you enjoy! over a year ago. Yes you can kayak from the park to Shell Island however it is a little bit of distance and across a boating channel.
