Just because LOST is over doesn’t mean we won’t be squeezing every little last bit of news about the show out over the next, oh, say, thirty years. Give or take. Today, there’s two different newsie bits about our second favorite sci-fi show of all time.
The first is that the (arguably) best director the show ever had, Jack Bender, is getting his first crack at a feature film. Having directed most of the last season of the show (including “The End”), Bender knows his way around a camera. And like J.J. Abrams' partner Matt Reeves, who worked with the mystery addict on Felicity, and ended up directing Cloverfield, Bender may also make the move from TV to film.
In the meantime, though, Bender’s deal with Bad Robot states that he can work on developing his own TV projects over the course of his one-year deal – as well as potentially directing for Paramount Pictures. Do we smell a feature version of Richard’s Adventures in Telenovela-Land in the offing?
The other, potentially more exciting news for LOST fans is that if you own Rock Band, you can now play two LOST songs: “You All Everybody” by Driveshaft, and “Dharma Lady” by Geronimo Jackson. You undoubtedly know Driveshaft, but the other song is an in-joke from the show, peppered throughout episodes in posters and shirts, but never heard – before now. We can only hope that the epic Driveshaft/Daniel Widmore collabo shows up next.
And with these two bits of news leaking out, now we’re curious to see where LOST will show up next. LOST’S DHARMA cereal, with Swan Station shaped marshmallows? Smoke Monster Brand Cigarettes? Oceanic Airlines Plane Crash Survival Kits? The sky’s the limit, as far as we’re concerned.
So LOSTies, what upcoming products do you want to see sullying the name of your favorite show?
