Futurama's Fry, the veritable everyman of the entire series,
brings unending funny with his trademark stupidity while also providing a window into the sci-fi
absurdity of the 31st century. What competence he lacks as a delivery boy, Fry more than makes up for with
his incredible heart.
In eleven years we've seen all the highest highs and the
lowest lows of Fry's moments as a Planet Express delivery boy, from past
nastification that made Fry his own grandfather, to flying brains and the
deepest exploration of space and time itself. Only his undying love for Leela anchors the universe travelling
delivery boy, and his spectacular
failures endear us to poor Fry time and time again.
So with all the Fry-centric episodes exploring delta brainwaves
and secret origins, have we really come to know "The Why of Fry?" Or is Planet Express's least valuable employee
still going to surprise us with his best moments in upcoming Futurama episodes? Tonight's Futurama, "Overclockwise,"
explores the idea of Bender becoming a god-like entity, and, according to David

| 11 | Roswell That Ends Well |
Past nastification, redundant alien autopsies and time travelling madness are just part of the fun of Futurama's trip back to Roswell 1947. The episode also contains one of Futurama's best Fry moments, when Fry inadvertantly becomes his own grandfather. Leave it to Fry to stumble through the entire ordeal, plummeting the ship through a wormhole, accidentally murdering his supposed grandfather and knocking his own grandmother up, never once anticipating the causality of his actions.

It's essential to Fry's character that despite his humble origins as a loser delivery boy, Philip J. would go on to save the universe time and time again without ever recieving the credit. Finally exploring the rationale behind becoming his own grandfather and the mysterious shadows present at Fry's original freezing, "The Why of Fry" gives us one of Futurama's best Fry moments by offering an equally heartbreaking and hilarious look into the cosmic significance of our favorite 20th century Earthling.
| 9 | The Luck of the Fryrish |
Finally fed up with his horrible luck, Fry searches for his long-lost seven-leaf clover and discovers his copycat older brother stole his name and became an Earthican hero. Only at the end do we discover Fry's petty resentment of his brother to have been misdirected, and said hero was actually Yancy's son named after Fry.
The emotional gutpunch took us completely by surprise, and let Philip quietly shine as he relinquishes the clover to his nephew's tomb in tears. We then punched our own siblings for not being as close.
| 8 | A Fishful of Dollars |
She was an early episode, but "Fishful of Dollars" gave us the chance to see the unencumbered Fry living in his 20th century bliss with the money accrued from a thousand years worth of interest. We have to take away points on account of Fry's apparent taste for disgusting anchovies on pizza, but considering the sloth he embraces fishy pizza is probably the least disgusting thing in that apartment. Questionable food preference aside, it is still one of Futurama's best Fry moments.
| 7 | War is the H-Word |
It took serious balls to finally make Fry into a man, and we mean that completely literally. Accidentally drafted into the Earthican war effort against the ball sacks of Spheron 1, Fry proves that no amount of cowardice can prevent a man from sacking up, or enjoying a good bounce when the opportunity arises. Sometimes, balls just need to be licked.
We maintain, this is entirely literal.
