The Emmy Awards never cease to rattle a few controversial cages, from Kate Gosselin being denied a dancing gig to Kathy Griffin telling Jesus to suck it. Everyone can count on the Emmys for a few shocking moments. But even before the ceremony starts, we go through the Emmy nomination announcements. These little guys cause enough drama on their own.

The 2011 Emmy nominations have just been announced and TV loyalists are outraged. Many of our favorite actors, actresses and shows were left without even a nod to their greatness. Here's who didn't get any recognition this year.

  • Community - Many actors and actresses were left out this year, but the whole show of Community was forgotten. The comedy has been raved about by critics, but perhaps the lackluster ratings caused the show to fly under the radar?
  • Fringe - Another show that was snubbed, Fringe was a shoe in for its recent third season being the best reviewed yet. We can chalk this up to the Emmys hating on our beloved sci-fi series in general for as long as we can remember.
  • Kaley Cuoco - Our favorite non-scientist from the Big Bang Theory was sure to get some love this year. Nevertheless, we go another year with no love for Penny. When will the injustice end?
  • Andrew Lincoln - You know, The Walking Dead isn't just some show about zombies. It's a study of human nature and how survival affects civilized people. Andrew Lincoln's portrayal of Rick Grimes reminded audiences that, even during a zombie apocalypse, there's right and wrong.
  • Nick Offerman - How anyone can make Ron Swanson of Parks and Recreation likable is beyond us, by Offerman does it effortlessly. Before we knew it we couldn't wait to see Swanson's reactions to the slightest of problems.
  • Shawn Hatosy - We've seen the cop with nothing to lose done before, but Shawn Hatosy's Sammy Bryant in Southland reacted to each of his burdens in such a way that he instantly became relatable. Detective Bryant showed us that everyone is human, even TV characters.
  • Katey Sagal - Even after her Golden Globe victory, Katey Sagal's performance as Gemma Teller Morrow from Sons of Anarchy goes unnoticed at this year's Emmy Awards. What does it take for everyone's favorite biker mom to get some love?
  • Courtney Cox - The tradition continues. Courtney Cox's reputation for she-who-will-not-be-nominated grows and grows. This time, her performance as Jules Cobb in Cougar Town sneaks by without mention. Someone nominate this poor girl for something.
  • Alexander Skarsgard - Last but not least, everyone's favorite vampire from True Blood goes home thirsty. Alexander Skarsgard's Eric Northman captured the hearts of girls obsessed with vampires everywhere. Unfortunately none of those girls were able to nominate him for an Emmy.

These are who we think were overlooked. Was your favorite show forgotten? Speak out below!
