Comic-Con 2011: True Blood Coverage and Panel

Get the latest blood-curdling True Blood news from UGO's live coverage of San Diego Comic-Con 2011.

Well, who's ready for a little True Blood?  We have Entertainment Weekly's Tim Stack moderating and appearances by cast members: Kevin Alejandro, Deborah Ann Woll, Kristin Bauer, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Anna Paquin, Rutina Wesley, Nelsan Ellis, Alexander Skarsgard and series creator Alan Ball!

  • Lucky for Eric Northman fans, Alexander Skarsgard wasn't originally slated to participate in the panel!
  • But before the cast comes out, why not take a look at a sneak peak trailer of the rest of the season?  We saw Sookie stalking around with a gun, having a fairy battle in a graveyard, Eric and Sookie certainly heating things up to Bill's Chagrin, Jessica vamping out on... Jason?  Luna's Weston Cage-looking boyfriend confronts her and Sam, with Marnie leading the circle confidently against the entirety of vampires, Bill saying she wants them all to meet the sun!  And what's this about Jessica running out into the light?  Now Tara's getting some vampire payback vampire-slayer style, and everything seems tense.  Could Debbie be jealous of Alcide's feelings for Sookie, and looking to blow her away?  Just like Arlene's house just blew up?  There are lots of crazy clips flashing and it looks like someone stabbed Sookie!
  • The most attractive cast on television, Tim Stack says.  I don't know.  We think Bryan Cranston is pretty dashing.  Did I just say that out loud?
  • Stephen Moyer says "Sook-eh."  Bound to happen sooner or later.
  • Anna: "There's the part of Sookie who's sweet. And there's the part of her that has really dirty vampire sex. Possibly with two vampires."  Please tell us one of them is Jessica.
  • Bill's relationship with Portia will be taking a back burner, as he has bigger fish to fry.  Considering how gross it was that he boned his own grea- great-granddaughter, we're okay with that.
  • Rutina Wesley doesn't care for the label of Tara as a "Lesbian Cage Fighter," but is more excited about the idea of the character being happy, and smiling for once.
  • Interestingly, Alan Ball won't say if Eric will remember his time with Sookie when he gets his memories back.
  • Wow, people are not happy with the idea of Sookie and Bill being back together.  Never say never, but Anna reminds people: "It's more complicated than that."
  • So what's the deal with Arlene's baby? Alan Ball says "We'll find out what it is about , that doll that makes it creepy. And it's something creepy."
  • Alan also confirms that there is a sequence of Sookie and Eric in a shower based on the book, but wouldn't elaborate specifics.  But it might be weirder or dirtier than you remember....
  • A romance between Pam and Tara?  Alan Ball writes it down, PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN!
  • We'll also "definitely" be seeing Pam's backstory and "making" in Season Five!
  • Alan says "The entire vampire community is under siege. They're fighting a common enemy. And that enemy is Michelle Bachmann."
  • Don't count out a relationship between Sam and Tara just yet.  "Nothing is ever done on this show."
  • Claudine's death may have had an impact on Sookie's powers, but Anna Paquin sure isn't saying....
  • Going forward, Alan thinks that seasons of the show will start correlating with their book numbers, as in the fifth season would adapt the fifth book.
  • There are supernatural creatures we've yet to encounter on the show, as Alan elaborates on "Spirits without bodies.  Brujo-based creatures.  More research to come."

Be sure to watch True Blood's fourth season continue this Sunday at 9 on HBO!
