Star Wars: The Phantom Menace's Worst Characters

Boss Nass is a fat frog thing whose sole characteristic is that he occasionally shakes his head and shoots spit everywhere. He's also not very smart. Gungans must elect their leaders based on body size, because this guy is highly susceptible to the Jedi Mind Trick. 

This brings up an interesting question. How much of a hero can Boss Nass be when helping the good guys wasn't even his idea in the first place?

Going solely by The Phantom Menace, not much is known about Yaddle except that she's a female version of whatever kind of alien Yoda is. We'd love to tell you more, but her sole contribution to the film is to just sit there looking more interesting than what's actually happening in a scene. We don't even know if she sounds like Yoda, because she doesn't ever say anything, though we like to think that she speaks completely normal, and Yoda is just very bad with English -- or Basic, for those of you who would immediately correct me.

For audiences in 1999, if there was any lingering doubt that Star Wars had taken a massive nosedive into stupidity, it was snuffed out by the appearance of Fode and Beed, the two-headed Podrace announcer whose broadcasting style was steeped in 20th Century hackery. Fode and Beed's comic relief was about as cheesy as a Robin Williams impression and twice as irritating.

Poor, poor Terence Stamp. If you're going to put one of the most dignified actors ever in a Star Wars film, you should at least give him something to do. Instead, Finis Valorum is only in the film long enough to lose his Chancellorship of the senate to Senator Palpatine. He basically makes a sad face, then leaves the Star Wars universe forever. That's okay though, because most of us had already forgotten him while he was still on screen.
