Best Gunslingers

It takes serious cojones to have a gunfight. You need nerves of steel, eyes of an eagle and a trigger finger down for anything. Check out the best gunslingers and learn a thing or two about shooting.

Gunfights: never bring a knife to one. The master marksmen in this feature will teach you that and many other rules. These fictional firearms masters are so skilled in the way of the gun that it almost seems superhuman. Capable of making bullets go wherever they want, whenever they want (usually inside people's bodies), these gunslingers are the stuff of legends. What follows are eleven of the best gunslingers to ever spit hot lead. You ready?

Tequila Yuen

John Woo is a director who knows how to make firefights look good, so it's not surprising that one of his characters makes this list. Tequila Yuen, as played by Chow Yun-Fat in the classic Hard Boiled, is a dude who can make bullets do just about anything. Seriously, this guy can shoot people in just about any situation - even while diving through the air in slow motion, his marksmanship is perfect. Even better, gamers got the chance to step into his shoes in the 2007 action title, Stranglehold.

Dante

It's kind of cheating to put Dante from the Devil May Cry games on a list like this, as dude can work with just about any weapon imaginable. The demon hunter has always, however, been attached to his pair of .45 handguns, Ebony and Ivory. These awesome pistols are enchanted to never run out of ammunition, but thankfully the Son of Sparda isn't just letting lead fly willy-nilly. He's good enough to ricochet shots off of each other in mid-air to terminate multiple demons at the same time.

Wesley Gibson

It's never really explained how Wesley Gibson and the other members of the Fraternity in Wanted are able to do the voodoo they do so well with their guns, but it's pretty sweet that they can. With most of the people on this list, once the bullet leaves the barrel, that's the end of it, but Wesley can use some kind of mojo to actually put a little English on the shot in flight, causing it to curve in the air and hit impossible targets. Pretty tricky business there.

Raylan Givens

The protagonist of FX's Justified is a little more down-to-earth a dude than some of the other marksmen on this list, but that doesn't make him any less a crack shot. Marshal Raylan Givens got assigned to his current Kentucky beat as the result of a shooting in Florida (in the line of duty, it's cool), Being back in his old stomping grounds doesn't mellow him any, and we got plenty of opportunities to marvel at his quick draw and frightening accuracy. This is one lawman you don't want on your tail.

Roland Deschain

The hero of the Dark Tower series has some pretty sweet firearms, being forged from the metal of the legendary sword Excalibur and all. Modeled after the .45 Long Colt, these pistols can perforate pretty much anything that stands in their way. Roland is a master with the guns, able to draw and fire with preternatural accuracy and speed, and he can even reload them blindingly fast after losing his right index and middle fingers. Seriously one of the most skilled gunslingers ever.
