Best Gunslingers

Put the Josh Brolin movie right out of your mind - we're going back to the source. The original Jonah Hex from the comic books was more than just a brutally scarred badass. He was also one of the best marksmen the world has ever seen. Using primitive 19th century revolvers, he's managed to take on overwhelming odds time and time again, shooting to kill and very rarely missing. All this considering that he only has one good eye. Now that's a gunslinger with some serious skill.

When you're built like a walking tank, you don't necessarily have to be accurate with your gun, but it helps! The interesting thing about Robocop's astonishing marksmanship (at one point shooting a rapist in the junk through his victim's skirt without harming her) is that it's all programming - Officer Alex Murphy was a notoriously lousy shot. When his targeting systems go down, Robo's a klutz with his handcannon. But couldn't you say that about any of us cyborgs?

In the cult, sci-fi classic, Equilibrium, being able to shoot is only half the job. The Grammaton Clerics, the enforcers of law in this dystopian future, are trained in the practice of Gun Kata, a martial art that does for firearms what kung fu does for fists and feet. The art's master practitioner is Cleric John Preston, played by Christian Bale. Preston's skills with his pistols are supernatural, but his defense is just as good - part of winning a gunfight is knowing where the other guy is going to shoot and not being there.

Toting a Colt single action revolver, Revolver Ocelot isn't armed to the teeth, but, in his own words, "six bullets is enough to kill anything that lives." The gunslinger member of terrorist cell FOXHOUND is an absolutely unbelievable shot, fully capable of ending Solid Snake's mission with just one well-placed bullet. He's one of the most persistent characters in the series, appearing in just about every installment. Sure, he got his hand chopped off, but that didn't slow him down much.
