Active buffer management protects the priority position for first profile in line while buffering subsequent profiles. Continuously shifting profiles towards the datumline allows for new profiles to load onto the handling system. This is because the datumline is always supplied material. This dramatically increases productivity and efficiency. Machines are no longer inactive while they wait for the next profile, or production batch.

Full automatic profile transportation is provided in order to integrate the machine to a fully automatic MSI beam line. Our/The VACAM software controls the sensored drag-dogs or liftables, transporting profiles onto the infeed roller conveyor and from the outfeed roller conveyor. Selected products will automatically be produced out of the trading lengths. The cross-transports are able to handle multiple profiles, allowing the machine to operate autonomously for a considerable amount of time.

VACAM determines the best route to achieve the highest efficiency based on customer preferences, production available, and MSI-line machinery. MSI is the process of moving semi-finished and raw products from one machine to another. MSI stands to represent one integrated production system. With VACAM, Voortman’s proprietary CNC control software, you can monitor and track every profile, product, and future plan in real-time.

The V808 is equipped with an agile, 8-axis cutting robot that’s able to reach and process the full maximum width of profiles within the machine’s range. Due to the fact Voortman has added two extra axes on top of the six axes of the Panasonic robot itself, the machine has a very wide reach and can place itself underneath the raw material. Voortman programs the robot in a way that it always maneuvers in the most stable position, which also improves cutting quality.
