Beam Coping Machine

Voortman CNC Beam coping machine's cutting head is an inexpensive and simple oxy-fuel head. It uses oxygen and any fuel you choose, such as propane, acetylene or propylene. These gases are inexpensive and readily available from your welding supplier. Welders who are familiar with torch cutting will be able set the flow rates of the Oxyfuel just like they are used too.

Structural Steel is used for the construction of nearly every type of structure including bridges and buildings. The designs of these structures are subject to considerable variation. Steel beams must meet exact specifications as outlined in blueprints. Steel beams need to be cut to the proper size and thickness.

Voortman Clipper CNC Angle Line, Voortman CNC Beam Drill Line, and Voortman Clipper CNC Angle Line made it possible to automate beams and angles at a reasonable cost for the small-tomedium fabricator. Now the Voortman Liberty allows automated beam handling in shops that wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it.

Voortman CNC Beam coping machine's cutting head uses an easy and affordable oxy-fuel cylinder head. This cuts with oxygen and any other fuel, including propane, natural gas, acetylene and propylene. These gases can be purchased at a very low cost from your supplier and are available for free. Welders with experience in torch cutting will also be able to adjust the flow rates of Oxy-Fuel exactly as they do now.

Machinery

Voortman was built to fulfill all your structural steel or plate fabrication needs. Voortman offers the following advanced features to help you refine your production.

A CNC beam-coping machine with one torch is a 5-axis machine which uses just one torch to perform all the coping. One torch cuts a beam by cutting at the web first, and then moves on to the blades. It moves sequentially from the web to each of the flanges. The 5-axis torch allows you to perform complex tasks in a virtually unlimited number of positions and directions. The 5-axis torch is capable of performing double miter/bevel cutting on both web and flange - something that multi-torch system are unable do.

Cad (Computer Aided Design)

Software that falls in this camp includes X-Steel, SDS/2, Tekla Structures, StruCAD, DetailCAD, BOCAD, SteelCAD, ProSteel 3-D etc. All these 3-D modeling programs export the DSTV file that is seamlessly imported into the Voortman.

This plasma drilling machine can be used to perform as many functions as possible. The PCR41 can produce fully finished parts at low manufacturing costs. This machine automates all traditional cutting operations as well structural steel.

Beam Coping Machine Backup

The basic unit is an oxy-fuel, semi-automatic coping machine. The operator places the workpiece and finetunes it before starting the cutting. An automated laser option is available to automatically probe the workpiece and adjust the torch height. The basic unit includes powered conveyors that allow the operator to manually measure and mark the length of the feed stock before cutting. Optional automated measuring system using Laser measurement of feed stock is available. Operators can input the material type they wish to cut via the interface. The computer touch screen allows the operator to scroll through a selection of options using pictorial representations. All dimensions of the AISC structural steel are programmed into the computer. The computer displays a fully dimensioned cope drawing, which simplifies programming and minimizes operator error. Operators can modify and override the input, and it can also be saved as a new program, as desired. You can pre-programme the machine from your office using DSTV exported drawings. The operator can use a wireless remote to control the equipment. The Operator can view the equipment from any angle he needs to ensure accuracy and verify operations. The operator marks the material and moves it into position. Finally, hydraulically clamps the material for cutting. The laser is aligned to the operator's mark by the operator and the cycle begins. The torch is ignited, pre-heating material. Operator initiates and finishes the cutting process manually, ensuring that the torch height is maintained.

A CNC beam coping machine using a single torch can be referred to as a 5-axis machine. It uses one torch to complete all the coping. A single torch is used to coping a beam. It will first cut at the web then move onto the flanges. It will move from one flange to another in an ordered manner. The 5-axis torch has the ability to move in virtually any direction or position. This allows for complex and intricate tasks. The 5-axis torch will make double miter/bevel cuts to both the web and flange. Multi-torch systems can't do this.

Voortman technicians can often work remotely from their computers to solve any problems you might have. Voortman technicians only need an internet connection to be able to use your control like he were there with you. Voortman equipment is equipped with a Powerful Windows (r)-based Siemens control, which allows for this capability. This platform also offers superior diagnostics.

The Voortman CNC Beam Coping Machine programming is easy and intuitive, even for those with little or no computer experience.
